The Grand Capital — Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Louvre, Ferrari World and pristine desert dunes
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is a city that effortlessly blends ancient Bedouin heritage with futuristic ambition. Home to the awe-inspiring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque — one of the world's largest mosques adorned with 82 domes and over a thousand columns — Abu Dhabi offers a spiritual and architectural experience unlike any other. The iconic Corniche waterfront stretches for eight kilometres along the Arabian Gulf, lined with manicured gardens and golden beaches. Yas Island is the region's entertainment hub, housing Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World, and the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, a masterpiece of architecture designed by Jean Nouvel, houses thousands of artworks spanning 5,000 years of human civilisation. Beyond the urban glamour, the Liwa Oasis and Rub' al Khali desert invite travellers for thrilling dune bashing, camel treks, and starlit desert camps. Abu Dhabi's culinary scene is equally impressive — from traditional Emirati lamb biryani in heritage villages to Michelin-star dining on Saadiyat Island. The city's cleanliness, safety, and world-class infrastructure make it an ideal destination for families, couples, and solo travellers alike. Whether you are exploring the historic Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain, watching falconry displays at cultural festivals, or cruising on a luxury dhow through the mangroves, Abu Dhabi surprises at every turn.
October to April is the ideal window when temperatures range from 18°C to 30°C, making outdoor sightseeing comfortable. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November and the Abu Dhabi Film Festival draw large crowds. May to September brings extreme heat (up to 45°C) but indoor attractions remain fully operational and hotel rates are significantly lower. December and January are the coolest and most pleasant months for beach and desert activities.
